Being an OC

Tuesday, Aug. 19th 2008

Rainy season is quite a hassle for everyone. Aside from being all wet and soaked from the heavy rain, everything you step into becomes in a mess. Since I am a little bit obsessive compulsive I always want to keep things clean and in order. An example of this is for my car, I even bought mats which were placed all over the flooring of the car including the compartment so that no one can put much mud and dirt in it. It is easier to clean unlike when there is know protection it is hard to wipe out all the dirt. It is advisable to buy car floor mats, truck floor mats, etc since these are cheap and very useful. There is lesser effort in cleaning the inside of your vehicles.

Business trip

Tuesday, Aug. 19th 2008

I have been traveling back and forth to Ontario for a year now because I have put up a new business there. I hired a manager on that store but still I do hands on managing on that shop. I keep myself updated with all the needs of my customers and all the issues regarding work. Though I have a long drive from my home to that I place I keep it a point that I visit them regularly. Since I do travel a lot there I decided to buy a auto insurance Ontario. Purchasing car insurance makes me worry free. I don’t have to think much about paying dies if ever an accident may happen. Though I drive carefully I don’t want to take chances about this matter. It makes me feel safer and confident when I am on the road.

Protect your assets

Tuesday, Aug. 19th 2008

With the growing rate of vehicular accidents in our times we should think ahead of the possible solutions to impending situations. Purchasing a car insurance
is one of the best things you can do to protect yourself from these inevitable situations. It is easier to pay dues and liabilities. There are many offers that you can choose from. You just have to be particular with some of your considerations according to your car and also with how much you can pay. New drivers like teenagers’ insurances are more costly since they are prone to accidents. This also applies to old people and women, they have higher rates. Car insurances handle charges differently. They may even pay for third party involvements while some just pay for personal damages. in choosing the right insurance you should examine carefully all the policies so that you can reap benefits from this type of investment.

PESKY STICKERS

Saturday, Aug. 2nd 2008

It is a regular procedure for private subdivisions to require a sticker made yearly which provides access for an automotive to enter. Our car is a victim of yearly stickers that needs to be removed at the same rate. We have all had difficulty removing these, especially from the new fiberglass bodies that are more popular in today’s models. So how does one remove these pesky things while avoiding the more costly and time consuming hassle of damaging that fiberglass? According to an article I’ve read, the trick here is to soften the sticker using a hair dryer to soften the glue on the sticker. Then you soak the sticker with a lubricant or cleanser for a few minutes and after which you scrape the sticker and its entire adhesive residue using a spatula. To remove any remaining residue, use a cloth soaked with alcohol. This may need to repeat a few times for full removal. It has been said to work regardless of how the long sticker has been there.

COOLANT

Saturday, Aug. 2nd 2008

A Coolant is the internal fluid that absorbs heat from the car’s engine and then dissipates it through the radiator. It is also dispelled through the heat exchanger in the passenger compartment when you crank your heat in the winter. It is commonly called antifreeze, which is a mixture of ethylene or propylene glycol and water, usually made in a 50/50 ratio. Servicing the coolant involves draining and/or flushing the car’s cooling system and then replacing the old coolant with fresh coolant. However in some cases, the owner uses plain water to cool the car’s engine down. In addition, Antifreeze has a sweet aroma and taste, which most house pets find particularly appealing. As little as a half teaspoon of it is enough to kill an average-size house cat, and eight ounces of it will do in a 75-pound dog. There’s no known substance yet that can be added to make it less favorable to pets, but if it is made with propylene glycol instead of the usual ethylene glycol, it is about a third as toxic.

CARS OF THE FUTURE

Saturday, Jul. 19th 2008

Latest movies sometimes show scenes that give us a glimpse of how our future would look like. Sometimes they show flying vehicles, robot employees and workers, and instant activities. Due to the increasing technological advances brought by the great minds of today, these images seem plausible. Cars and the future of cars is a controversial topic for many. Some argue that a car has no future, while some also state that the car will in the future supplant most other forms of transport. However, due to many scientific achievements, there are many possible advances in technology that could influence the future of the car. The smart car and driverless car have been proposed and was said to make driving easier and safer. Cars also may be able to use low carbon fuels such as hydrogen, fuel cells, and electricity instead of the internal combustion engine. With advances such as these, the bounds of how far the automotive can go, prove to be limitless.

CAR SHOW

Sunday, Jul. 13th 2008

I was once hanging around the mall with a friend, our real purpose was to just eat and after that, it seemed there was nothing left for us to do. It was late afternoon and we felt it was still too early to go home. Then after walking around the mall for 15 minutes, we saw in the middle of the pathway cars that were set up differently however well designed in comparison with ordinary cars. A Car Show is a public exhibition of current automobile models, debuts, concept cars, or out-of-production classics. They are essential to most car manufacturers and local dealers as a public relations exercise, for advertising products, and for increasing publicity. However there are gatherings or events that are more localized typically comprised of car enthusiasts that meet to socialize and enjoy their enthusiasm with other car owners.

Accidents do happen. In instances of such emergencies, not only does the unfortunate event cause physical and emotional damage to the people involved, it too inclines the person at fault to pay these damages. Owning a car is no joke since from the moment of avail, to the car’s monthly or regular maintenance, to circumstances such as emergencies, one is bound to free money from their pockets in a great deal. LET’S GO HYBRID

Sunday, May. 25th 2008

In the past, the only hybrid vehicles manufactured were boats with sails and oars. However, in the modern times, there are mopeds and electric bicycles come out as hybrid vehicles which function with an internal combustion engine or electric motor. There are also buses and other heavy vehicles nowadays which run on turbo electric or diesel electric propellers. After conduction of several researches and road vehicle experiments, the first hybrid pick-up was produced in 2004, followed by the first hybrid passenger car one year later. Hybrid vehicles run on liquid petroleum gas which does not emit carbon compounds that cause air pollution, thus are no destroyer of the environment. Throughout the world thus, there is an urgency to manufacture cars, which are environment friendly. While normal cars are considered to be great pollutants of air, still now majority of the cars are not hybrid cars.

OVERHEATED

Wednesday, Apr. 30th 2008

Let me share with you a personal experience. I have a story with me, my own car emergency. One time I drove the car with my brother, he asked me to drive him to the mall to buy something. Knowing that he wouldn’t take long, I waited in the parking lot, with the car open. With my intent to save gas, I turned the car off. I waited for a few minutes and then saw my brother’s head upon the exit sign. I turned the car on, it won’t work. My car is automatic, so it couldn’t be moved through pushing. When I tried again, I saw that the temperature of the car’s internal engine was near optimal heat. I started the car the third try, and thankfully it went my way. I was panicked all throughout the experience and was only relieved when we arrived at a gasoline station which resolved the heat through the use of a coolant.
